Together, we’ll be changing lives by provide homes for those currently living in slums internationally. Can you imagine raising your children without a stable roof over their head? To be sleeping on dirt floors with water and waste flowing freely through them? We can’t either. This is why, together, we’re going to do something to change that!

Why we choose New Story as our partner for this event:
  • 100% of your donation goes directly to the field. They operate with completely separate overhead cost so every dollar you give goes straight to building homes.

  • You get to see the exact family you’re helping. We will be receiving and sharing the story and a few photos of the family being helped when they move in.

  • They hire local labor and buy materials in country to boost the country’s economy. We’re not just going to provide houses, but also going to provide jobs and stability for these communities.

We are so excited to help to provide families with safe, life-changing homes!

We believe we have to work together to make it happen. Thank you for helping us to provide life-changing homes around the world. Want to know more? See photos, videos and get their full story at newstorycharity.org

In 2018, we raised funds to build one new home. Your participation or donation to the 2019 Vista open will help us reach our goal to build at least two homes for families in need!

Meet the Rivera Guzman Family

Santa and her husband Guadalupe work very hard with the little that they have. Santa prides herself on a clean house and caring for their daughter Vivia who is 7. Vivia attends elementary school nearby. Guadalupe builds shelving for stores. His job requires a lot of physical labor but pays very little. He comes home tired most days.

The family is living on a part of their family’s property and renting a house. The homeless than adequate for their needs, as the roof is a sheet of the tarp. When asked how a block home would change their life, Santa said, “I would feel safe.”

These living conditions are hard to imagine. Owning a safe home is a big dream for this family, one that has the power to impact the trajectory of their lives, especially for their young daughter. With your partnership, we transform this family’s life.

Walk With Sally

nick and sup.jpg

Walk With Sally believes no child should walk alone in the face of a loved one’s cancer journey. Because we don’t want cancer to define or limit children for the rest of their lives, we are partnering with them to create hope, healing and a supportive community through individualized mentoring, which transforms the lives not only of the children, but also of the families impacted by cancer, right here in the South Bay and in surrounding cities.

  • Walk With Sally Mentorships (Friendships) last on average more than 2 years with outcomes like pro-social and desirable behaviors, increased decision-making skills and initiative behaviors; decrease in physical illness complaints.

  • They create community, opportunity, and access outside of the one-on-one friendship through our Friendship Activities and other programs and resources.

  • The organization currently supports over 120 Friendships across 39 cities within Los Angeles County

Meet Ronnie and Scott

The impact of Friendship lasts a lifetime. These two met in November of 2014, and continue to keep in touch today. For Ronnie, knowing his mentor would be there for all the big moments as well as the hard ones gave him increased self- esteem and sense of true community.
